your content at a glance
The columns you’ll see each quarter in your dogPRO Newsletter:

Living With Dogs. The Trainer version contains educational training content. The Walker-Sitter-Daycare-Boarding version focuses on general advice about exercise, dog park and trail etiquette, safe practices around kids, the benefits of dog-dog socializing, and so on. (Note: These topics are also covered for trainers, but with training advice included.)

Front Page Quote. A dog-related bon-mot. The Trainer Version is frequently, but not always, training related.

Did You Know. A collection of curious, extraordinary, occasionally silly dog trivia.

A World Of Dogs. A general interest article about dogs in today’s culture. Topics include history, family life, literature, health, training philosophy, attitude shifts, and so on.

Dogs In Action. An all-purpose column about active dogs. We cover dog sports, activities, and service dogs—from Rally-O to Seizure Alert dogs to Tracking.

Healthy Dog. A brief introduction to a health topic that tells readers where to find more information. Topics include dog food, safety, fitness, holistic health, and much more.

Dog In The Spotlight. A breed profile with a difference. We weave in the importance of exercise and R+ training, and go out of our way to include interesting facts rather than the standard breed book fare.

Tips & Tools. Commonsense advice on all things dog. Oftentimes seasonal. Typical topics are kids & dogs, preventing dog theft, traveling with dogs, holiday hazards, etc.

how we choose topics & write your articles
The Content. Article topics are chosen to inform, entertain, and educate about dogs. We demystify common canine behavior, write about dog-related trends in the world at large, and pepper everything with notable facts and figures.

The Guidelines. All content is produced to the highest journalistic standards, meaning it’s thoroughly researched and ethically approached. Numbers and industry trends come from reputable, verifiable sources. Training content reflects R+ techniques only.

The Writer. Is a veteran freelance writer with a background in high-end advertising. She has written for The Bark, Our Animals, Creature Comforts, and many national newspapers and magazines. She has won the Dog Writers’ Association of America’s Maxwell Medal for Best Magazine Feature (2002) and holds a double-major Master’s in English & Communications.
